A Bachelor degree with at least Second Class Honours, in Engineering, Science or Architecture.

Applicants in possession of degrees other than those specified above may also be admitted subject to an interview to establish whether they have sufficient competences and a suitable background to be able to follow the course with profit.

In exceptional cases the Admissions Board, on the recommendation of the Board, may admit into the Course applicants not in possession of a Bachelor degree, provided that it is satisfied that such applicants are in possession of other academic or professional qualifications and experience that together are deemed to be comparable to the level of a first degree.

This programme of study is also offered on a part-time basis. Please consult the Registrar's website for more information pertaining to courses offered by the University.

This programme is designed if you are a science, engineering or/and architecture graduate. Topics covered include Renewable Energy Resources, Renewable Energy Technologies, Energy Efficiency, Energy Regulations, Policy and Economics, and Energy and the Environment. Research methods and project development also form part of this programme, which is organised in collaboration with the Faculty for the Built Environment and the Departments of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Electric Power Conversion of the Faculty of Engineering.

This programme of study is governed by the General Regulations for University Postgraduate Awards, 2021 and by the Bye-Laws for the award of Master of Science in Sustainable Energy under the auspices of the Institute for Sustainable Energy.

The following are a sample of learning outcomes that you will acquire by the end of the course:

Assessment of the position of economies according to their energy resources.

Application of various techniques for experiment design and data analysis to real life situations.

Tackling of basic budgeting, writing and following up on checklists for successful project implementation and running.

Interpretation of sustainable mobilities.

Capacity to design experiments and perform them.
